Palma Boat Show 2017
We are delighted to announce that both LUDYNOSA G. (37.5 m Dubois 2005) and
MOONBIRD (37.15 m Fitzroy Yachts 2003, refit 2013) will be on show with McMaster Yachts at the Palma Boat Show
28th April to 2nd May, 2017.
We hope to see you there!
With the purchase of 39m Pendennis-build Tenaz, his first yacht, owner Andrew Colin made the daunting leap from chartering to ownership. He talks to TSO about his first impressions of the industry on board at the St Barths Bucket.
For Colin, who started his own business while he was at university, having time off is a luxury. As such, getaways that are social and active are important for him and his family. “We started chartering about 10 years ago and found them great holidays,” explains Colin. “There is something about being on the sea that means you can absolutely relax; sailing has a great distractive capacity. Being on a boat is a transcending experience where you are able to escape all the pressures and tensions of life.”
Following a 15-month re-engineering project at Vitters, the 67m carbon ketch Hetairos made an impressive debut performance at the 2015 Rolex Maxi Yacht Cup. Four years after the yacht was first featured, TSR was invited to sail on board in Palma de Mallorca to experience the product of this overhaul and speak to the key personnel involved. Bryony McCabe reports.
Patrick Yeoward is managing the refit works aboard TENAZ during the winter of 2016/17
TENAZ is returning to Yates Adriano, Port Adriano, Palma de Mallorca, after the successful completion of the works there during the winter of 2014.
The following works will be undertaken in time for 2017 summer season.
The teak deck will be lifted, the substrate verified and a new deck laid to the original specification. The hydraulics system will be completely removed from the yacht – from pump to end-user – and all components overhauled or replaced as necessary. The HVAC air handlers will be removed and replaced with new units to increase the efficiency of the climate control system. The interior will receive new fabrics, wood and varnish touch-ups and her marble surfaces polished to refresh the interior.
Class will be inspecting the vessel, along with Flag, in order to place her on the Commercial registry.

GANESHA – 2nd Place SYC Palma
The twentieth Palma Super Yacht Cup was a wonderful event with three of our yachts competing. Arguably the McMaster fleet would have welcomed 5 knots more breeze but it was a highly enjoyable few days.
Special mention to GANESHA who came second in her class having been impeccably sailed throughout the regatta. Great to see SALPERTON back on the race course with a crack crew as usual. The light conditions did not suit TENAZ with her conservative (by modern standards) sail plan but she always seems to have a huge amount of fun.
Thanks to the owners for taking part and to the event organisers for laying on such a great regatta.
