Founder

James has worked in the yachting industry since 1996 and in January 2000 co-founded Dubois Yachts with Ed Dubois and Malcolm McKeon.  He left Dubois in 2008 in order to set up McMaster Yachts, a specialist sailing yacht management company, now also with with a high-end brokerage and charter division.

Since that time, James’ commitment to transparency and integrity has ensured steady growth, with the vast majority of new yachts in the McMaster Yachts stable coming via existing clients or Captain/industry recommendation.  The number of yachts under management at any time is limited to less than fifteen in order that every yacht, every owner and every crew under McMaster Yachts’ management receives a very personal and specialised service, with every detail taken care of.

Originally based in Sherborne, James opened a second office in Palma de Mallorca in 2011 and is now working largely from there, overseeing a range of sailing and motor yachts, from 30 to 67 metres.

Maryna is a key member of the Palma team, offering a broad and expert range of support in all areas of Yacht and Crew Administration.

Her first introduction to yachting was as a fresh faced and very green 18 year old.  Starting as a Housekeeping Stewardess, with a good level in multiple languages and a very hard-working, happy nature, she was soon promoted to chief stewardess and became a much-valued member of the crew. She then spent a great deal of time working with a project management team, working with the Idea Database and ensuring  Class and Flag surveys and Certification were in order. Now shore-based, she lives with her young family here on the beautiful island of Mallorca.   Happy still to be close to, and working within, the yachting industry. 

Crew Recruitment

Judy is in charge of Crew Recruitment at McMaster Yachts Crew.  An avid sailor who has worked as a Deckie and then a Mate, Judy is now living on land here in Palma de Mallorca, and expertly running our busy crew recruitment department.  She’s still getting her sailing fix when she gets the chance of course!   When she’s not out at sea, she is fitting the right person to the right job both within our fleet, as well as amongst her numerous friends and former colleagues in the sea-going fraternity.

Senior Yacht Account Manager

Vicky has worked at McMaster Yachts as Yacht Bookkeeper since 2015.  She has developed a deep knowledge of the yachting industry and provides a hugely reliable and expert level of Account support to Captains and Owners alike.  Vicky is based in Dorset in the UK and since joining our team ten years ago has become mother to three energetic young boys. She brings a great sense of calm and organisation to the McMaster Yachts team, as well as extensive understanding of her subject.

Crew Services Assistant

Nadiia and her family arrived in Mallorca as a result of the war in Ukraine.  She had to quickly learn English, as well as Spanish, and also adapt to a very new kind of life. She has managed all of this, at the same time as proving herself to be a great asset to McMaster Yachts as a careful and diligent assistant in our Crew Services department. (She is also our team photographer.)

Senior Yacht Account Manager

Elizabeth joined McMaster Yachts in January 2024, having previously spent many years as Senior Yacht Account Manager at another Palma-based Yacht Management company. Hugely experienced and expert at what she does, Elizabeth brings a highly valued and in-depth knowledge of  superyacht accounting to the team, including very well-honed skills in refit accounting.

Rachel started life as a City lawyer in London, specialising in Corporate Tax.  She has worked with McMaster Yachts Limited since 2013,  and since 2020 as Finance and Legal Director based in the Palma de Mallorca office.
